Visiting the Mariposa Heritage House

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Mariposa Heritage House, where I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan and the four additional staff members who generously hosted me during my time there. The Heritage House in Mariposa is a community-centered transitional housing and support program dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness find stability, dignity, and a path forward.

It was valuable to see firsthand the care and structure they provide, and to learn more about the community they’ve built. During the visit, I distributed a Makeshift Traveler to Rae (left) and Jesse (right), who also participated in an interview with me for an upcoming book project. I’m grateful for their willingness to share their stories and perspectives, and for the work the Mariposa Heritage House team is doing to support individuals on their path forward.
