On September 3rd, we had the privilege of partnering with Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino (CAPSB) and the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation to deliver 30 Makeshift Traveler backpacks during a mobile shower event in San Bernardino. This event was part of our ongoing effort to provide practical, life-sustaining resources to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
This partnership was made possible through a generous $5,000 grant from the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, which initially supported an outreach walk earlier in 2025 in San Bernardino where we delivered 20 Makeshift Travelers. Building on that momentum, this latest event allowed us to expand our impact in collaboration with CAPSB’s critical mobile shower services.
The outreach was also covered by Allyson Vergara from the San Bernardino Sun, whose article captured the spirit of the event and the innovation behind the Makeshift Traveler program. You can read the full story here: Homeless people get high-tech backpacks at San Bernardino giveaway
We are incredibly grateful to both the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation and CAPSB for their commitment to serving the community and for helping us deliver support with dignity and compassion.
