New Partnership with St. Vincent de Paul, Los Angeles

We are thrilled to announce a major new partnership between The HomeMore Project and St. Vincent de Paul of Los Angeles, one of the largest and longest-serving homeless service organizations in Southern California. In 2026, St. Vincent de Paul will receive 500 Makeshift Traveler backpacks to distribute to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness throughout Downtown Los Angeles.

For decades, St. Vincent de Paul has been a trusted lifeline for people in need, providing meals, shelter, clothing, community, and dignity. Their work reaches thousands each year, and their footprint in Downtown L.A. places them at the center of one of the most visible and urgent humanitarian crises in the country. This partnership allows us to combine our innovation with their scale, community trust, and direct service network.

The Makeshift Traveler backpack was designed to support individuals experiencing homelessness with practical, portable, and immediate relief. Each pack includes a solar-powered charging system, weatherproof sleeping solution, hygiene essentials, security features, and survival supplies. When paired with St. Vincent de Paul’s community-based support, meals, and service navigation, the impact becomes even stronger.

This is the kind of partnership that moves us closer to our larger vision: scalable solutions rooted in dignity, human connection, and community empowerment. We look forward to continuing the Makeshift Traveler Journey alongside St. Vincent de Paul, and we are honored to stand with partners who treat unhoused individuals not as a statistic, but as neighbors deserving compassion and opportunity.
