The Makeshift Traveler Journey continues and we are excited to share our newest partnership on the East Coast. The HomeMore Project is partnering with the Blue Ridge Area Coalition for the Homeless (BRACH) to deliver 50 Makeshift Traveler backpacks to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Charlottesville has seen significant growth in housing instability and unsheltered homelessness in recent years, with service providers working tirelessly to respond to rising need. BRACH has been a key coordinating hub in this effort bringing organizations together, strengthening regional strategy, and ensuring that resources are deployed with intention, equity, and local knowledge.
This collaboration marks an important chapter for The HomeMore Project of expanding our impact beyond California and demonstrating that the Makeshift Traveler is a practical and scalable solution that can support unhoused individuals in communities of all sizes across the country.
We are honored to partner with BRACH and grateful for their commitment to local collaboration and innovative homelessness response. Together, we can help more people stay safe, stay connected, and stay hopeful. The Makeshift Traveler Journey continues , and now, Charlottesville is part of that story.
