On Tuesday, September 2nd, we had the opportunity to walk alongside the City of Morgan Hill and Unhoused Specialist Brian Malicdem during an outreach day to support individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness in the region.
Thanks to a generous $2,500 grant from the Morgan Hill Community Foundation, we were able to distribute 25 Makeshift Traveler backpacks during the outreach walk. Each backpack contained essential items designed to promote safety, mobility, and comfort. This included a sleeping bag, flashlight, radio, water bottle, poncho, and basic hygiene supplies.
The day was a reminder of how strong partnerships between local government, community foundations, and direct service providers can create meaningful, immediate impact. We are incredibly grateful to the Morgan Hill Community Foundation for making this outreach possible, and to Brian Malicdem for leading efforts to connect with and support our unhoused neighbors with dignity and care.
