This afternoon we highlight the story of Walter and his wife, Cassandra (not pictured). Walter and Cassandra have been married for over 25 years, which Cassandra described as “still being madly in love.” We briefly chatted about the importance of a significant other when experiencing the challenges of being unhoused.
Prior to being unhoused, Walter and Cassandra ran a Tree Climbing Business in Etna, California. When the business began to struggle, a series of personal events occurred, and eventually, all of their tree climbing equipment was stolen; this displaced them into being homeless on the streets of San Francisco.
