This morning we met Andre, a former 12th-grade Economics Teacher in the Bay Area. Andre had a particularly unique backstory, and he discussed his transition into, unfortunately, beginning to experience homelessness eight months ago. With a relatively new chapter, especially compared to others, Andre and I chatted about accessing other services throughout San Francisco.
Andre shared his passion for being a high school Economics and American Democracy teacher. Despite being in his late 60s, Andre has not completely ruled out a return to the classroom but acknowledged that he first needs to receive help and permanent housing.
