Day 96: Takeaway Conclusions and Goals for 2023

This post will wrap up the takeaways from 2022 and serve as the beginning of seeing new faces who receive a Makeshift Traveler in 2023, along with a few goals. 2022 was a big year! At times it felt like the distribution of our Makeshift Traveler was never going to come, but on October 1st, it finally did. Though distribution has only taken place for a few months, the takeaways will genuinely help grow this program to not only reach more people but reach them in a more valuable and meaningful way.

As far as this year, our primary goal is to deliver 1,000 Makeshift Travelers in 2023. Last year we concluded with about 130 entering the unhoused community. Through our ongoing distribution processes, partnerships, and hopeful contracts, this is well within our aim of achieving.

Additionally, we hope to continue our outstanding fundraising efforts to end the year with $100,000 in cash to fund future projects in 2024, such as a proof-of-concept version of our transitional housing program. $100,000 will not allow us to begin this program, but it will enable us to invest in the personnel and plan to receive the funding to conduct this program.

Ultimately, these goals are well within range through growing our team by adding a few part-time and full-time employees.

Thank you again for your continued support of The HomeMore Project, and we look forward to seeing what is in store for us in 2023!
