This morning I met Chris, who is unhoused from Santa Rosa. Chris and I have been in contact for a few days, as he was hoping to receive a Makeshift Traveler once returning to San Francisco from visiting his brother. Chris and I chatted about the challenges of being unhoused in a city like Santa Rosa, with extremely limited resources allocated to homelessness. Chris has been homeless on and off for nearly eight years while living in Santa Rosa, and a few months ago, he decided to come to San Francisco to obtain permanent housing through the city.
It was a bitterly cold day, and Chris noted that he was wearing shorts because all of his clothing had been stolen days prior.
We are still in contact with Chris via his cell phone number, and if you would like to make a donation to him, please click the button below and write a comment, “Chris from Santa Rosa.” We look forward to tracking his progress into permanent housing!
